Every Kai & Bo book ends with a family discussion page: a few questions about the story and the verse behind it. They’re made for bedtime, homeschool or a Sunday afternoon.
What the questions sound like
They start with your kid’s own life, not with a lesson. A few from the series:
- God Is With Me: “When has a plan of yours fallen apart, and what happened next?”
- The Tide Always Returns: “How is a promise from God different from a promise from a person?”
- Kai Learns Patience: “Who is the hardest person for you to be patient with, and why?”
- The Broken Kite: “Does forgiving someone mean what they did was okay?”
A simple way to use them
- Finish the story first. Let the ending land before any questions.
- Pick one question, not all of them. One good conversation beats a quiz.
- Answer it yourself too. Kids open up faster when a grown-up goes first.
- Keep it light. If the talk stalls, ask for a favorite Bo moment. Laughing together counts.
No right answers are needed. The goal is a conversation, not a test.
